An Abstract Take On Fireworks...Not Your Typical Firework "Burst"

I try to be a little different! I'm known by some as the "Queen Of Blurs"! My photography style is edgy and whimsical! If you'd like to learn how to take abstract photos of fireworks, here are some tips.

I don't like the confinement of using a tripod especially since I move the camera around in different directions. While taking a long exposure you can move your camera in a zigzag motion, up and down...side to side...in a circular motion & zooming in & out.

Here are samples of last years fireworks I took in an amusement park at Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT.

Set your camera on ISO 200, Shutter Priority (S, or Canon users TV) Auto White Balance (AWB) and try some of these different settings:
F-Stop & Shutter Speed
F/5.4 0.6 sec

F/4.9 0.6 sec

 F/5.6 0.6 sec

 F/5.6 0.6 sec

 F/5.6 0.6 sec

 F/7.1 0.6 sec

F/16 0.5 sec (*0.5 sec is the same as 1/2 second)

 F/22 0.5 sec

F/13 0.5 sec

 F/5.4 0.6 sec
